The Mexico Writer's Retreat

In February 2025 I’ll be offering yoga, movement and other inter/inner-connecting practices on an incredible writer’s treat hosted by Trust and Travel Retreats. I’ve been following the work of Ern Rose Belair for several years now and have been in love and dying to get more involved with what she offers. I’m so excited to be a part of creating the experience and to attend the workshop!

the

EXPERIENCE

Is your life idling for a creative fire? Our writing retreats are designed to ignite your inner flame. We’ll use our human experience to craft essays, short stories, memoirs, and poems. Our days will be spent in a sprawling, beachfront and eco-friendly luxury property located on Mexico’s Pacific coast in Guerrero. We will be immersed in our writing practice, meditating, exploring the jungle, enjoying the secluded beach and connecting with our literary selves. We will also experience delicious meals and local flavors. You set the tempo here, time is all yours.

the

INSPIRATION

What can we learn from stillness, from taking a moment to see ourselves clearly, ask questions, and excavate our lives for stories? We will deep dive into our personal narratives, challenging you to think deeper, expand your creativity, and help shape the course of your writing life. We will explore our empathetic pathways. We will think about form not just as a craft tool but as an emotional one. We will leave the experience with a greater understanding of what makes a story, where to find them, and how to bring them to life structurally and emotionally.

the

INTENTION

When we say we write to live life twice, we mean it. We write to express something deep inside of us but also to savor every bit of this moment. To witness, to feel, to move so slowly we don’t miss the change of seasons, we stop and feel the earth beneath our feet, the leaves at our fingertips, the sea breeze against our skin. We are deeply inspired by the beauty of the natural world, like the great poets and writers before us. Writing that is rooted in place is writing that transforms, that’s why we travel, to enrich our narratives and change what is possible on the page.
